Our development team is working very hard to finalize the next release of our Publishing System Enterprise 6.5, so let's shed some light on what's coming.

An important aspect of 6.5 is to increase performance across the board. In general our performance is best in class today, but we still have the ambition to make things faster :-) For example the 6.5 pre-release version processes large files (meaning 200Mb-1Gb) over 30% faster using 75% less memory. The latter might sounds not so interesting, which is true on Linux/Unix based platform (incl. OSX), but there are Operating Systems out there that have limitations of the past century ;-)

Enterprise 6.5 will also include support for CS4. Instead of an easy straight port from CS3 we have decided to take full advantage of some of Adobe's new technologies introduced in CS4 to also gain some interesting performance gains on the client. In a next post I will explore some of the new exciting features that we're adding in Enterprise 6.5
